The correct side of what?

I doubt you'll find anyone who thinks Al Queda are the good guys - they're clearly bad people. Similarly, most people will agree that Iraq is capable of being a much better place than it was in early March 2003.

I could make similar statements about the leadership of Iran and North Korea. We could talk about some of the not-so-good things happening in China. There are some pretty bad people in Darfur, and current day Afganistan and Pakistan have serious problems, not to mention the craziness in the Gaza Strip.

There's plenty of bad people, all over the world. But what does it mean to be on one side or the other of them? That's the hard part, how do we deal with all the bad things and people in the world? Military occupations don't scale, regardless of how well they're run. The hard questions aren't about who the bad people are, they're about what to do about them.
